CARING FOR YOUR MONÉ

At Moné, each design is the beginning of a beautiful journey. With a few basics, Your Moné will turn a special moment into lasting memories.

A Gift That Keeps On Giving

A plant has a circle. It can start with a seed, the seed becomes a plant, and the plant could produce a flower. The flower is the most beautiful moment of the circle.

Becomes A Beautiful Mess

Your Moné is a living design that will last several months in its natural material structure with proper care. The physical look will change as the plants grow. Depending on the plants, it can be directly planted into a larger container or reused for new plants.

Follow Plant Specific Lighting Instructions

Proper Lighting Is A Crucial Ingredient

Since plant species change frequently, we include specific recommendations with each design.

Water Slow

Check To See If Watering Is Necessary

Water needs will vary based on the environment. Over-watering is just as bad, if not worse, for the plant. Check weekly to see if your plant needs water. Stick your finger two inches into the medium. If it is dry, the design is ready to water.

Slowly Add Water & Avoid Excess Moisture On Leaves

Add water around the plant and let it absorb. Avoid excess moisture on leaves which could lead to fungal infections and stem rot. Let the water soak into the plant until it leaks through. To prevent over-watering, let the plant dry in between waterings.

Place On A Towel To Remove Excess Moisture

Every time you water, place your design on a towel. It will remove excess moisture and help prevent early breakdown, mold, and fungus. Let the form sit on a towel for 20 minutes. Breathability is essential for structural longevity.

Practice Good Hygiene

Remove Dead Flowers & Foliage

To keep YOUR MONÉ healthy, remove any dead or dying foliage. Good hygiene helps prevent unwanted pests and diseases.

Manage Your Moss

Like paint on a canvas, moss is the first layer of our artistic structures. It is a 100% natural product and therefore varies with every batch. Our first choice is moss-free of any synthetic treatments (left). The moss is washed and allowed to dry naturally. It is decorative and not living. Then when necessary, a dyed moss is used. It could be a nontoxic synthetic product (middle) or our homemade plant-based dye (right). Eventually, the color for all will fade. The length of time varies based on exposure to the sun. See an example below.

  • Natural

100% natural, minimally processed moss. The product is sustainably harvested, washed, and dried.

  • Synthetic Dye

100% natural moss that was washed, dried and dyed with a nontoxic, synthetic green dye.

  • Veggie / Plant-Based Dye

100% natural moss that we washed, dried, and dyed with our homemade upcycled veggie dye.

When exposed to humidity, the moss can lose its smooth texture

A careful trim with scissors will “tame” your moss and help maintain the original shape.
