“Roots and Wings: The Evolution of Moné Design Studio”
Moné Design Studio (Moné) officially launched in the summer of 2020, but the seeds were planted long before that. For over 12 years, I nurtured ideas, conducted research, and embarked on product development. As a new artist, inventor, and avid outdoorswoman, this journey has been incredibly empowering and transformative.
Starting in Bellingham, the tranquil environment and supportive community allowed me to explore and refine my creative vision. Yet, traditional plant design often felt limiting. It was these constraints that taught me to look at problems holistically and value inclusivity in my work.
The turning point came during the pandemic lockdown. The enforced pause allowed us to fully experience the healing effects of plants. It was during this period of experimentation, making, and growing that Moné truly came to life. The process of creating and nurturing plants proved to be a source of inspiration and magic, capable of transforming moments and spaces.
In 2022, we began our journey into 3D printing and shared our work for the first time at a local artisan market. This marked a new chapter for Moné, pushing us to innovate further. Each challenge became an opportunity to reimagine and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Despite the uncertainties and challenges, the endless opportunities to connect people with nature and each other kept us moving forward.
Today, Moné Design Studio stands as a testament to the courage it takes to reimagine tradition and think beyond conventional limits. We continue to dream, create, and inspire, guided by the belief that there is no right or wrong in art—only endless possibilities.
Warm regards,
